Tahoe Donner Real Estate
The following graphs represent the real estate data for Tahoe Donner single family homes sold. The first graph shows Tahoe Donner average price/sq. ft. and number of home sales over the past 9 years (2005-2013). The average price per square foot for home sales had continued to go down until last year when it hit its lowest and is now on an upswing. The average price square foot for home sales in 2013 for single family homes in Tahoe Donner rose to $267.63 a 12% increase. As a buyer if you have been on the fence NOW is the time.
The second and third graphs represent single family home sales broken down by price band for both 2012 and 2013. What I find interesting is that the volume of homes sold 270 in 2012 and 271 in 2013 were virtually the same but the percentage of those homes that sold over $600,000.increased by 43% 76 homes sold over $600,000 in 2012 and 109 sold in 2013. I just returned from a long girls weekend with friends from college and we cannot say enough great things about this home. The rooms are much larger than they appear in photos and the layout suited our needs perfectly. The large great room that flows into the dining room and kitchen was a wonderful gathering place and held all 10 of us comfortably. The home is expertly appointed with plenty of bathrooms for the whole group to get ready at one time and plenty of large, comfortable beds. A lovely porch off the open floor plan main level was a perfect spot for morning tea and afternoon happy hour with a gorgeous view of the mountain. We’re already looking into coming back in the winter, as the home is likely one of THE closest to the village (beside condos IN the village, of course). Walking to the village/lifts would not be an issue whatsoever in wintertime. In the summer, the village is still open but going to the lake for meals on the water was our preference. It’s very easy to get to restaurants on the lake, in Truckee, and the Ritz (mid-mountain) and any activity you could ask for! Lastly, there’s a wonderful hiking trail right outside the house which takes you through a forest and up towards the top of a hill with fantastic views of the Sierras. Very responsive owner who was always available for questions, etc. Can’t say enough great things about our experience staying here, enjoy!

The number of home sales and average price/sq. ft. for home sales increased in 2012 compared to 2011. The average price/sq. foot for home sales in 2012 for single family homes at Donner Lake was $322.29. This shows that now is a great time to buy a home if you are in the market!
