Interest Rates at an All Time Historical Low

This great chart shows the history of 30 year fixed interest rates from 1971 to 2009.  It shows how they have gone up and down over the past few decades and how that compares to where they are at today.  The highest interest rate during this time frame was in 1981 with rates at 16.63%.  The chart shows that rates are currently at the historically lowest price ever! Tahoe Donner Weekly Market Update

Quite a lot of activity in Tahoe Donner this past week (June 21-27, 2009). 14 new homes came on the market this past week. There are now a total of 161 active single family homes listed in Tahoe Donner. 8 homes went pending last week! Of the homes that went pending, 1 was listed for $294K, 3 were in the $300K range, 2 in the $500K range, 1 in the $700K range, and 1 in the $800K range. There are now 27 Tahoe Donner homes under contract! 5 homes sold this past week. 2 sold for $460K, 1 for $845K, 1 for $900K, and 1 for $1 million. The average days on market was 136 days. The average original list to sales price was 65% but 1 home sold for above asking price. The absorption rate in Tahoe Donner is around 17% (up from last week’s 15%) and there is about 6 months of inventory remaining. Click on the link for current listed Tahoe Donner Short Sales.

Truckee Summer Music in the Park

Truckee Music in the Park has begun! This is such a fun event for the whole family during the Summer months in Truckee. Local musicians and bands come out to play in the Truckee Regional Park every Wednesday starting June 17th going through August 26th. Many people bring a picnic dinner to enjoy on the grass while listening to music and some bands get people down in front to dance!

The Truckee Regional Park is located off of Brockway Road just a couple minutes from downtown Truckee. Hope you can make it to at least one concert this summer - they are definitely worth checking out!

6 homes and 3 condos went pending in Tahoe Donner this past week! Of the single family homes that went under contract, 3 were in the $300K range, 2 in the $500K range, and 1 in the $600K range. There are now a total of 24 Tahoe Donner homes under contract. Only 1 home sold in Tahoe Donner this past week. It was originally listed for $579K, on the market for 89 days, and sold for $524K. The home sold for 91% of the original listed price.  6 new homes and 2 new condos came on the market last week. There are now a total of 158 active single family homes listed in Tahoe Donner.
